Nominees Announced for the 42nd International Reggae and World Music Awards


The highly anticipated nominees for the 42nd International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) were revealed virtually on Wednesday, showcasing the incredible talent within reggae and world music. A total of 160 nominees have been selected across 40 categories, with an additional 10 special honorees being recognized for their contributions to the industry.

Topping the nominations is global reggae superstar Sean Paul, who leads with an impressive seven nominations. Following closely behind are YG Marley and Shenseea, both securing five nominations each. Meanwhile, dancehall queen Spice and reggae icon Buju Banton have earned four nominations apiece.

Other nominees, with recognition in three categories or fewer, include a star-studded lineup of reggae and dancehall heavyweights such as Bounty Killer, Nigy Boy, Chronic Law, Vybz Kartel, Shatta Wale, Damian Marley, Shaggy, Gramps Morgan, Beenie Man, Jada Kingdom, Collie Buddz, and Agent Sasco.

The IRAWMA continues to celebrate the artists who are pushing reggae and world music to new heights, with the awards highlighting achievements in a wide range of categories. Fans and music lovers around the globe eagerly await the winners, who will be announced during the ceremony later this year.
